Description
The Super-Sonic 22 HD Head takes the Deluxe Reverb’s power section and builds around it a two-channel workhorse that covers everything from sparkling clean tones to expressive modern distortion. Rated at 22 watts, it’s a mid-power head suited to smaller stages and studio work where you want real tube dynamics without overwhelming volume.
The Vintage channel keeps controls ahead of the gain stage and includes a switchable Normal/Fat voicing, so you can move between classic clean chime and a rounder, fuller push. The Burn channel flips the recipe with dual gain stages and EQ placed after the gain, giving you Treble, Bass, Middle, Volume, Gain 1, Gain 2, and Master controls to sculpt saturated tones without losing clarity. A shared Reverb control drives the onboard Fender long-spring reverb, built by Accutronics for that unmistakable splashy decay.
Inside, three 12AX7 and two 12AT7 preamp tubes work alongside a pair of 6V6 power tubes – the same combination that’s defined Fender clean and breakup tone for decades. An effects loop with send and return lets you slot in time-based or modulation effects at line level, and the included four-button footswitch handles channel switching, Fat voicing, reverb, and the effects loop on the fly.
Housed in a 3/4″ birch/maple plywood cabinet with a dog-bone handle, ivory radio knobs, and the classic Black/Silver finish, this head is built to pair with a Super-Sonic 212 cabinet or any quality 8-ohm speaker enclosure.
