The Jet Black started as a simple mission: give players who loved the Black Cat’s voice enough headroom to really cut loose. Doubling the output tubes to a quartet of EL84s didn’t just add volume—it unlocked a whole new personality that’s punchy, tight, and surprisingly touch-sensitive. Everything from pick attack to your guitar’s volume knob puts you in the driver’s seat.
Channel one has been reworked with a bolder, more forward voice. Clean tones ring out with authority, those coveted edge-of-breakup textures shimmer with harmonic complexity, and pushing into gain territory happens naturally when you dig in—all from a single channel.
Channel two is where the Jet Black really shows its teeth. It draws on decades of iconic rock amp tones without copying any of them directly, landing somewhere between vintage familiarity and modern bite. A newly designed 3-band EQ delivers an aggressive mid/high presence that cuts through a mix without turning harsh, and every control is calibrated to sit right at noon—so dialing in tone for your room or cabinet doesn’t require extreme settings. Rather than chasing the classic British sound, the Jet Black stakes out its own sonic territory, which makes it a smart choice for two-guitar bands looking to avoid a volume standoff.
Reverb and tremolo circuits are tuned specifically to complement this amp’s character—reverb stays lush without splashing into noise, and tremolo offers adjustable depth and speed for everything from subtle shimmer to full pulse. A buffered, transparent FX loop keeps your pedals sounding honest, a line out simplifies IR use and re-amping, and multiple speaker output options give you flexibility on stage or in the studio. A two-button footswitch handles channel switching and tremolo on/off.
