The Suhr SL-67 is a purist’s take on the classic British amp formula, hand-wired from end to end at Suhr’s Lake Elsinore, CA facility. Powered by two EL34 power tubes and three 12AX7 preamp tubes, it puts out 50 watts RMS u2014 enough headroom to stay articulate at stage volume, yet touch-sensitive enough to clean up beautifully with a roll of your guitar’s volume knob.
A single channel with four inputs gives you a spread of tonal options before you even touch the front panel: Channel I’s top jack runs brighter and hotter, its bottom jack warmer and tamer, while Channel II’s pair leans bassier at both high and low sensitivity. Dial in further with Presence, Bass, Middle, Treble, and independent Volume I/II controls, plus a Post Phase Inverter Master Volume on the rear panel that stays sonically transparent at 10 and lets you pull the amp back to bedroom levels without losing character.
The standout feature is the three-position power switch with a low-power Variac-style mode, dropping the internal voltage for a spongier, smoother-attacking feel u2014 the same trick behind decades of legendary rock tones. Separate internal bias adjustments for HI and LOW power mean you won’t need to re-bias when switching between them. A custom-spec “Plexi” output transformer ties it all together, delivering the clear, dynamic push that defines this amp’s authoritative voice.
