The SUHR Badger 18 is an 18-watt, all-tube head that covers a lot of ground tonally, from glassy, sparkling cleans to thick, saturated overdrive. At its core sits a cathode-biased EL84 output stage paired with a 5Y3GT tube rectifier, giving the amp the sag and touch-sensitivity players associate with vintage-voiced circuits.
What sets the Badger 18 apart is its Power Scaling control. Rather than just adding an attenuator after the fact, Power Scaling actually varies the voltage feeding the output section, letting you shrink the amp’s wattage down to just 1 watt while keeping the harmonic character of a fully cranked amp intact.
