Description
The Classic 20 MH takes the tonal DNA that’s made Peavey Classic amps a staple for blues, country, and rock guitarists and packs it into a mini head built for players who need real tube tone without hauling a full-size rig. Two EL84 power tubes and three 12AX7/ECC83 preamp tubes drive the circuit, delivering the harmonic push and natural compression that only tubes can give.
Both channels share the same gain structure and voicing found across the Classic series, so switching between them feels seamless rather than jarring. A shared 3-band EQ, built-in reverb, and an effects loop round out the tone-shaping options, and all of it — channel switching, reverb, and the effects loop — is controllable via the included footswitch, along with a footswitchable global volume boost.
Peavey’s TSI tube monitoring keeps an eye on power tube health and flags exactly which tube needs attention if something goes south, saving you a guessing game before a gig. For recording and silent practice, the rear panel offers an MSDI output with XLR and ground lift, plus USB out and a headphone jack. A speaker defeat switch and a 3-position power attenuator (20W/5W/1W) let you dial the output down to bedroom or studio levels while keeping that same tube feel.
