Description
The 6505 MH takes the amp that defined a generation of metal and rock tone and squeezes it into a compact, footswitchable head that’s just as at home in a bedroom as on a stage. Under the hood you get a genuine all-tube preamp and power section — 2x EL84 power tubes and 3x 12AX7/ECC83 preamp tubes — driving the same gain structure and voicing found in the full-size 6505 that guitarists have relied on for years.
Two channels share a 3-band EQ and lush reverb, while a dedicated crunch mode on the Rhythm channel and a buffered effects loop round out the tone-shaping options. Everything that matters — channel switching, crunch, reverb, and the effects loop — can be controlled from your feet, so you’re not bending down mid-set to chase a tone. Peavey’s T.S.I. circuit keeps an eye on your power tubes in real time, flagging exactly which one needs attention before it becomes a problem on stage.
Flip it around and the 6505 MH is loaded for modern recording and practice needs: Peavey’s exclusive MSDI XLR output with ground lift, a USB output, a headphone jack for silent practice, a speaker defeat switch, and a built-in power attenuator that steps output down to 20, 5, or just 1 watt — so you can get real tube power amp saturation without waking the neighbors.
