Description
The Super Champ X2 proves that a single-10″ combo can hold serious tonal range. Its 15-watt dual-channel tube engine, built around a 12AX7 preamp tube and a pair of 6V6 power tubes, delivers everything from bedroom-friendly cleans to breakup that still cuts through a small stage. This is a practice-room and studio amp that doesn’t box you into one sound.
What sets it apart is the Voice knob: 16 selectable amp characters spanning tweed, Blackface, British, Hot Rod, and metal-style gain, so you can chase a Deluxe Reverb chime one minute and a British stack snarl the next. Fifteen onboard effects with adjustable level, plus tap tempo for dialing in delay times by feel, round out the sonic palette. Dual-channel switching (footswitch sold separately) lets you split rhythm and lead tones on the fly.
Connect it to a computer via USB and Fender FUSE software (free download) opens up deep editing of amp voicings and effects, default customization, and speaker-emulated digital recording straight from the amp. A 1/4″ line output and external speaker jack add further flexibility for recording and stage use.
Built in Ensenada, Mexico, as part of Fender’s Vintage Modified series, this combo pairs its 10″ Fender Special Design speaker (8 Ohms) with a compact footprint of 9.2″ x 17.5″ x 15″ and a manageable 24 lbs.
