This 2020 Limited Edition keeps everything that made the ’65 circuit a legend while dressing it in a striking Chilewich Denim covering with black grille cloth and a blue amp jewel that sets it apart visually from a standard-issue Princeton.
Under the hood, Fender swapped in a 12″ Celestion Alnico Blue speaker, prized among amp builders for its airy top end, quick response, and the way it opens up as you push into overdrive. Paired with dual 6V6 output tubes, a 5AR4 rectifier, three 12AX7 preamp tubes, and a 12AT7, this amp delivers the dynamic clean-to-crunch transition that made the original famous — clean and glassy at lower volumes, then breaking into a warm, singing overdrive as you dig in.
Fender’s tube-driven, long-spring reverb and tube-powered vibrato remain fully onboard, both switchable via the included two-button footswitch, so you can dial in shimmering ambience or wobbly pitch modulation on the fly without reaching for the amp.
