Description
The Hot Rod Deluxe IV has long been a workhorse for gigging guitarists who need headroom, clean-to-crunch flexibility, and enough punch to fill a small-to-mid-sized room. This limited-edition 120V version dresses up that proven 40-watt, 1×12″ platform in Vanilla Nubtex vinyl with a lightly-aged Cane grille cloth for a warmer, vintage-leaning look, and swaps in a 12″ Celestion Creamback speaker for added midrange bite and touch sensitivity.
Under the hood, Fender revised the preamp circuitry to sharpen note definition when you push the gain, so power chords and leads stay articulate instead of turning to mush at higher volumes. The spring reverb has also been retuned for a smoother, more shimmering decay, giving you usable ambience across the entire reverb range rather than just at low settings.
Cosmetic and build updates round out this version: a lightweight pine cabinet keeps the combo manageable to haul between gigs, while ivory pointer knobs, refreshed control panel graphics and texture, and a steel-reinforced strap handle add durability and classic Fender styling. The tone stack remains pedal-friendly, making this amp equally at home with an overdrive-and-reverb setup or a full board of modulation and delay.
