Description
The Bassman 800 proves that serious bass power doesn’t have to mean a serious backache. At just 17 lbs, this hybrid head pairs a pair of 12AX7 tube preamp stages with a Class D solid-state power section rated at 800 watts RMS into 4 ohms, giving you arena-sized headroom without the arena-sized road case.
- Vintage channel: A passive tone stack that cuts rather than boosts frequencies, delivering the thick, fizz-free low end Fender bass amps are known for.
- Overdrive channel: Genuine tube grit shaped by an active 3-band EQ with variable mid frequency and blend control, dialing in anything from a gentle push to full-on aggression.
Both channels share a MASTER control (with pull MUTE), and the included footswitch lets you jump between Vintage and Overdrive hands-free mid-set.
Around back, you get everything a working bassist needs: a tuner output, effects loop, and a pro-grade XLR line output with level control, pre/post EQ switch, ground lift, and Silent Recording capability for direct studio or FOH work. Combo speakON (2- and 4-pole) and 1/4″ output jacks mean it’ll hook up to nearly any cabinet you own — though it’s a natural match for Fender’s Bassman Pro Neo line.
Whether you’re running small clubs off the Vintage channel’s classic warmth or pushing bigger rooms with the Overdrive channel’s tube-driven punch, the Bassman 800 delivers big, musical tone from a head light enough to carry in one hand.
