Description
The Bassbreaker 45 takes the DNA of the legendary late-’50s tweed Bassman and reshapes it for players chasing British-inspired grit with American touch sensitivity. This is the flagship of Fender’s Bassbreaker line, and this particular unit is a gently used demo model dressed in dark gray lacquered tweed with a black grille.
At its core sits a 59 Bassman-style circuit prized for dynamic response and pedal compatibility, paired with EL84 power tubes and three 12AX7 preamp tubes for a tighter, rock-leaning breakup. The standout feature is the Output knob, which scales the amp’s power from a full 45 watts all the way down to a single watt — letting you find studio-friendly volumes or push the amp into arena-ready roar without changing character. Two channels (Normal and Bright) can be blended through the shared Both input, unlocking classic tonal combinations without a patch cable.
Tone shaping comes via Bass, Middle, Treble, and Presence controls, feeding a pair of 12″ Celestion G12V-70 speakers loaded in a birch ply, semi-closed-back cabinet for a full, resonant low end. A switchable 4/8/16-ohm output plus internal speaker disconnect means the amp’s 1/4″ jack can also drive an external 8-ohm cabinet.
