Long before pedalboards and rack gear, the brown ’62 Princeton earned its keep in studios for one reason: it responded to a player’s touch and delivered tremolo that breathed rather than chopped. That sensitivity is exactly why Grammy-winning artist Chris Stapleton gravitated toward this circuit, and Fender built this edition around his preferences.
Under the hood is the classic 6G2 circuit, hand-wired and fitted with Fender Vintage “Blue” tone caps and Schumacher transformers for period-correct warmth. Power comes from a 12-watt output stage running through an upgraded Eminence 12″ Special Design “CS” speaker, giving the amp more headroom and clarity than a stock vintage unit while keeping that output tube-biased tremolo circuit intact for smooth, organic pulse.
Twelve watts through a single 12″ speaker is enough to fill a small stage, bedroom studio, or club gig with real tube dynamics — push it and you get natural compression and grit rather than raw volume.
