Description
The EVH 5150III 2×12 Combo delivers Eddie Van Halen’s legendary voicing across three distinct channels—Clean, Crunch, and Lead—so you can move from glassy chime to saturated lead sustain without stomping on a single pedal. Under the hood, seven JJ ECC83 (12AX7) preamp tubes drive two JJ 6L6 power tubes for that unmistakable EVH push, while a front-panel power scaling knob lets you drop output from a stage-filling 50 watts all the way down to 1 watt for late-night practice without losing the amp’s core character.
Each channel gets its own gain, low, mid, high, and volume, backed by a master presence control up front and a master resonance/power level/reverb section around back for deeper tonal shaping. Built-in DSP reverb adds ambience on tap, and the included 4-button footswitch handles all three channels plus reverb on the fly. Rear-panel MIDI input, preamp output, an effects loop, and a headphone jack (which mutes the power amp) round out the connectivity, alongside two parallel speaker outputs and selectable 4/8/16-ohm output impedance.
Twin Celestion G12M 8-ohm 12-inch speakers push the low end through a custom 7-ply birch cabinet with internal baffling tuned for this configuration—solid enough for club stages, controllable enough for the studio.
