Description
The EVH 5150 III 50-Watt Head takes the DNA of the flagship 100-watt 5150III and packs it into a lighter, more manageable chassis without sacrificing the searing gain and harmonic depth that made the original famous. It’s built for guitarists who want the full EVH voicing—crushing lows, articulate mids, and searing highs—without hauling a full-size head to every gig.
Three footswitchable channels cover the full range of playing styles. Channels one and two share an EQ section with gain, low, mid, high, and volume controls, giving you clean and crunch tones from the same tonal foundation. Channel three adds independent gain, low, mid, high, and volume, plus master presence and resonance controls for shaping lead tones with extra bite or bloom.
Two JJ 6L6 power tubes and seven JJ ECC83 (12AX7) preamp tubes drive the circuit, with selectable 4, 8, or 16-ohm output impedance for matching whatever cabinet you’re running—including the EVH 5150 III 1×12, 2×12, or 4×12. Dual parallel speaker jacks, an effects loop, a stereo headphone jack, and a line out round out the rear panel, all housed in a 7-ply birch plywood cabinet finished in black textured vinyl with the striped EVH grille and black hardware.
Included with the head:
- 4-button footswitch with 1/4″ input for ultra-fast channel switching
- MIDI input on the footswitch for controlling channels and the effects loop from any MIDI device
- 3-foot heavy-duty speaker cable
An optional fitted cover with EVH logo is available separately. At 35 lbs. and 20″ wide, this head is built to move between stage and studio while keeping every ounce of the 5150III’s signature roar.
