Description
The EVH 5150 III 50-Watt Head takes the tonal DNA of the flagship 100-watt version and packs it into a lighter, more manageable chassis without sacrificing the attitude that made the 5150III a modern rock and metal staple. Whether you’re filling a club or need serious headroom for mid-size stages, this head delivers the dynamic range to move from glassy cleans to saturated lead tone across three distinct channels.
Channels one and two share a single EQ section (gain, low, mid, high, volume), giving you quick access to clean and crunch voicings. Channel three breaks out on its own with independent gain, low, mid, high, and volume controls, plus rear-panel master presence and resonance for dialing in the exact amount of punch and sparkle in the top end. Under the hood, seven JJ ECC83 (12AX7) preamp tubes and two JJ 6L6 power tubes provide the touch-sensitive feel and harmonic depth EVH amps are known for.
Routing flexibility is built in: selectable output impedance (4, 8, or 16 ohms), dual parallel speaker jacks, an effects loop, headphone jack, and line out cover most rig configurations. The included 4-button footswitch offers ultra-fast channel switching via 1/4″ cable and also accepts MIDI control for programmable rigs.
