Description
Don’t let the size fool you — the Katana Mini packs an authentic multi-stage analog gain circuit and a full three-band tone stack (bass, mid, treble) into a 4-inch speaker cab that runs on six AA batteries. It’s the same cascaded-gain philosophy BOSS uses in its flagship Waza amps, shrunk down so you can carry serious tone anywhere.
Three amp voicings cover most of the tonal map: Brown channels the harmonically-rich, high-gain character of Waza-inspired circuits for riffs and solos, Crunch nails classic rock/blues overdrive, and Clean stays crisp and dynamic for unplugged-style practice or clean rhythm work. Because the gain stages are analog, distortion responds naturally to your pick attack and guitar’s volume knob — no digital modeling artifacts, just amp-like feel.
A built-in tape-style delay adds ambience via dedicated Time and Level knobs, ranging from subtle slap-back to long, warm repeats. The aux input lets you jam along with a phone or streaming source, while the phones/rec output applies cabinet voicing so headphone practice and direct recordings still sound like a mic’d amp rather than a raw signal.
At just over a pound and under 3 lbs with batteries, and with an integrated handle, it’s built to travel — desk, dorm room, campsite, or backstage warm-up spot.
