Description
The Bartolini AGMPB/918 solves a problem many players with hybrid pickup systems run into: piezo and magnetic sources rarely play nicely together without some help. This dual-channel buffer/preamp gives each pickup type its own dedicated path, with a high-impedance input built specifically for piezo or microphonic transducers, plus a separate isolated channel for magnetic pickups so neither signal bleeds into or degrades the other.
Each channel includes its own onboard trimmer, letting you dial in up to 12dB (4x) of gain boost independently per pickup while keeping the frequency response flat and true to the source. That means you can balance output levels between a piezo bridge pickup and a magnetic pickup without EQ coloration creeping in.
- Dual-channel design with separate gain trimmers for each channel
- Up to 12dB (4x) adjustable output boost while preserving flat response
- High-impedance input suited to piezo/microphonic transducers
- Isolates magnetic pickup channel from external interference affecting tone
- Body is under half the size of a standard 9-volt battery, fitting tight instrument cavities
- Direct upgrade replacement for the Bartolini MPB2-918, with simpler wiring and true dual-channel gain adjustment
If you’re retrofitting an acoustic-electric or hybrid-pickup build and need reliable output with minimal space demands, the AGMPB/918 delivers the flexibility and isolation to keep your tone clean from the instrument all the way to your amp.
