The Katana-Head takes its name from the samurai blade for good reason — this compact 100-watt head is built for precision, cutting through any mix with authority. Rooted in technology borrowed from BOSS’s flagship Waza amp, it’s engineered to interact with your cabinet the way high-end tube designs do, giving you punch and presence in a head small enough to toss in the back seat.
Five amp characters cover a huge stylistic range: Clean stays glassy and transparent, Crunch adds gritty bite, and Lead spans everything from thick blues tones to slick legato runs. Brown inherits its high-gain DNA straight from the Waza amp for serious rock tone, while Acoustic is tailored for acoustic-electric guitars.
Skip the pedalboard entirely — the amp holds 55 BOSS effects onboard, editable through the free BOSS Tone Studio software. Load up to 15 effects into the amp and run three at once, then save the results into one of four Tone Setting memories for instant recall mid-set. Dedicated knobs for gain, three-band EQ, and presence keep hands-on tweaking fast and intuitive, just like a traditional tube head.
Around back you’ll find real gigging flexibility: an effects loop and MIDI input for syncing with external switchers like the BOSS ES-8 or ES-5, plus a Line Out and USB for sending studio-ready direct tone to a PA or DAW. A built-in 5-inch monitor speaker means you can dial in and rehearse tones without ever hooking up a cab.
