The Katana-100 is a 100-watt 1×12 combo designed to handle everything from small club gigs to full-volume band rehearsals, driven by a custom 12-inch speaker that projects with authority. Bring it home and it doesn’t lose its character at low levels — Boss’s Power Control circuitry keeps the amp’s dynamics and touch response intact even when you’re playing quietly.
Five distinct amp voicings sit at the heart of this amp: Clean, Crunch, Lead, Brown (pulled from the Waza amp series), and an Acoustic setting tailored for acoustic-electric guitars. That range covers glassy headroom for rhythm work all the way through high-gain lead tones without needing a separate pedal for every job. Dedicated knobs for gain, EQ, presence, and effects let you dial in changes on the fly without digging through menus.
Version 2 firmware expands the amp’s effects library to 58 total, adding SDE-3000 delay, Phaser 90E, and Flanger 117E, plus doubled Tone Setting memory slots so you can save and instantly recall more full amp-and-effects combinations mid-set. Channel and global EQ additions give finer control over tone shaping, while Cabinet Resonance and Air Feel — technology borrowed from the Waza line — improve the amp’s direct-out sound for recording or silent stage setups.
Editing and patch management happen through the free BOSS Tone Studio software, and a built-in tilt-back stand helps aim the speaker toward your ears on stage.
