The Bad Cat Lynx is a high-gain tube head engineered for players who want serious saturation without sacrificing definition. Its low end stays tight and reacts fast to palm-muted staccato riffing, while the top end cuts through a mix without turning harsh or brittle. The mid-range carries real complexity, giving chords and single notes room to breathe even under heavy gain.
Two distinct channels cover a wide stylistic range. Channel 1 spans gritty, crunchy cleans up through ’80s thrash-metal aggression, making it a versatile foundation for classic and vintage-leaning tones. Channel 2 is voiced for modern high-gain playing, delivering a massive wall of sound that remains surprisingly articulate string to string, so dense chord voicings and fast runs don’t blur together.
Behind the tone shaping, the Lynx runs on custom hand-wound Bad Cat transformers, two EL34 power tubes, and four 12AX7 preamp tubes housed in a Baltic birch cabinet. A patent-pending noise gate keeps things quiet between notes, and a buffered active effects loop lets you run pedals transparently without coloring your signal.
