At its core sits a 12″ Celestion Special Design speaker, chosen specifically to translate the amp’s 21 onboard amp models and 46 effects with real cabinet character rather than sterile digital sheen — and it doubles as a solid speaker for streamed Bluetooth audio when you’re just noodling or backing tracks are needed.
What sets this combo apart from a typical modeling amp is its connectivity. It’s built with onboard WiFi, letting you pull firmware updates, grab artist-crafted presets spanning genres from metal to jazz to R&B, and tap into a community of other Mustang GT owners. Pair it over Bluetooth with the free Fender Tone app and you can dial in gain, treble, middle, bass, and reverb from your phone, save custom presets, and switch tones with spillover so nothing cuts out abruptly mid-transition.
Onboard controls include a color LCD display, a large encoder dial, and soft-touch keys for quick edits without digging through menus. A built-in 60-second looper gives you a practice partner or songwriting tool right out of the box, and it unlocks further with the optional MGT-4 footswitch for hands-free preset, effects, tuner, and loop control.
