The Hot Cat 1×12 updates Bad Cat’s beloved 2005 original with new voicing options while preserving the amp’s signature character. Channel 1 delivers that trademark Bad Cat clean tone – shimmering top end paired with a full, round low end. Channel 2 turns up the heat with a high-gain voice built for string-to-string clarity and rich harmonic complexity, whether you’re chasing crunchy blues tones or full-on metal saturation.
A Lo/Hi gain switch expands Channel 1’s range dramatically, taking it from pristine clean headroom into vintage-flavored ’70s crunch and every stop in between. Channel 2’s own Lo/Hi toggle offers two distinct gain personalities, so between both channels and their switchable modes, you’ve got four usable tone profiles accessible from a single two-button footswitch that also handles channel switching.
Reverb is custom-tuned independently for each channel, and a fully transparent buffered effects loop plays nicely with both analog pedals and digital rack gear. Power comes from 2x EL34 tubes with 4x 12AX7s up front, running through hand-wound Bad Cat transformers into a custom UK-made 12″ Celestion speaker.
