Designed alongside George Benson to complement his signature Hot Rod Deluxe combo, this extension cabinet exists to solve one problem: give an open-back amp the low-end punch and directional push of a sealed enclosure. Pair it with the GB head and you’ll notice tighter bass, a fuller low-mid presence, and sound that carries further across a room or stage — ideal for jazz combos, small clubs, or any gig where you need the amp’s articulate top end to stay clear while the bottom fills out behind it.
Inside is a single Jensen C12K speaker rated at 100 watts, matched to an 8-ohm impedance and wired through a solid-pine cabinet. Pine construction is lighter than plywood or MDF but resonates readily, so the cab adds its own woody warmth to the overall voice rather than just moving air. The closed back concentrates that output forward, which is exactly what a Benson-style rig needs when the venue gets bigger than a living room.
Cosmetics follow Benson’s own choices down to the detail: gray-black vinyl covering, silver-strand grille cloth, and a metal “GB” badge that ties it visually to the matching head. A single 1/4″ input keeps hookup simple, and Fender includes a speaker cable plus a fitted cover so it’s ready to travel.
