Description
The Suhr Corso proves that big tone doesn’t require big wattage. This all-tube head runs on a 12BH7, 12AX7, and 12AU7 to deliver a variable-wattage design that packs the harmonic depth of a high-headroom stage amp into a head small enough for a home studio corner or a late-night bedroom session.
- All-tube signal path (12BH7, 12AX7, 12AU7) for genuine amp warmth and dynamics
- On-board attenuator lets you dial from crystalline cleans down to saturated, harmonically dense overdrive without cranking the room volume
- Low-gain front end tailored to play nice with boost, overdrive, and time-based pedals – no fighting an already-hot input
- Post-power-section Line Out captures the full amp signature, not just the preamp, for direct-in recording
- Confessional grill cloth finish
Because the Line Out taps the signal after the power section, what you hear through your interface is the whole amp – power tube sag, compression, and all – rather than a thin preamp-only signal. That makes the Corso a legitimate substitute for miking a cab when space, time, or neighbors don’t allow it.
Turn the attenuator fully counterclockwise and you’ve got a practice-volume amp for 2am inspiration; open it up and the Corso pushes into the same harmonically rich breakup you’d expect from a much larger, much louder head. It’s a recording amp first, but one that never feels like a compromise.
