Description
The EVH 5150III 50W 6L6 212 Combo takes the amp’s signature high-gain identity and puts it in a cabinet small clubs and mid-size stages can actually accommodate. Two custom-designed EVH Celestion 12″ speakers push the low end through a birch cabinet with internal baffling tuned for tighter bass, so the combo stays focused even at volume.
Three fully independent channels cover the ground most players need: channel one stays clean and articulate, channel two brings the crunch and heavy gain associated with the 5150III 100S, and channel three moves into thick, liquid lead distortion. Channels one and two share EQ but get their own concentric gain/volume knobs for quick level matching between rhythm and lead tones. Channel three adds its own dedicated gain, volume, and three-band EQ, plus power level, reverb, presence, and resonance controls that apply globally.
Under the hood are seven JJ ECC83 (12AX7) preamp tubes and two JJ 6L6 power tubes, with a front-panel power switch that scales output all the way from 50 watts down to 1 watt for late-night practice or recording without losing tube feel. Around back you’ll find selectable output impedance (4, 8, or 16 ohms), dual parallel speaker outs, an effects loop, MIDI input, preamp output, and a headphone jack that mutes the power amp.
Chicken-head knobs, a red LED jewel, molded top handle, and pop-out casters round out the black vinyl exterior. A four-button footswitch ships with the amp for hands-free control over all three channels plus reverb.
