Description
The Baroni M-1959 is part of a five-strong Recording Tube Amp lineup, each unit built around a high-voltage tube preamp engineered to faithfully reproduce a specific classic amplifier. This model is tuned to the storied British Classic Rock tone—that chiming, sat-on-the-edge-of-breakup character guitarists have chased for decades.
Rather than just capturing a preamp tone, Baroni’s 100% analog VARICAB circuit models what happens after the preamp too: power stage behavior, depth and presence response, and cabinet variations. A single VARICAB knob puts all of that under one control—turn it counterclockwise for added punch and low-end weight, clockwise to open up air and brightness, all while shaping feedback the way a real tube amp would react.
Each unit in the series carries a full tone stack modeled on its reference amp (the V1530 is the exception, with just Bass Cut and Treble Cut), alongside dedicated Gain and Volume controls for the high-voltage preamp and its simulated power amp stage. A buffered FX loop lets you drop time-based effects in after the distortion stage, and two front-panel toggles let you bypass VARICAB entirely when running your own VST/IR into a DAW, plus a ground/lift switch. A separate Main Out (TS jack) also lets you feed the preamp signal into the return of a traditional amp, using the M-1959 purely as a preamp stage.
